June 27, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

Visiting friends for dinner, they live...sort of out of town, but not like out far, far away in the boonies - and this little doe just wanders through their yard, within 15 feet of us at one point, even with people up walking around.

Texted to the youth leader, while he was trying to speak, "They're snickering behind you."

When there's no announcements or other media on the screen during youth service, all you see is the desktop background without the icons since it's an extension of the laptop screen...and that was the wallpaper...and it was kinda funny :)

June 25, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

I thought a can of Jolt would pump me up, or at least wake me up today, I am TIRED of feeling run down, but nope. Didn't do a thing. I still could have napped all day (if I had been home instead of in town with chores to do). But I still LIKE Jolt :D I had 2 cans. It doesn't stop coughing nor runny noses. It just tastes good and is probably really BAD for you :D

June 24, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

Short walk at the beach with Sandy and the kids - would like to be well enough to do that 5 mile (kills you) hike at Cape Arago, but we did a short short Sunset Beach trail - and the clouds were really odd - sort of super-imposed fake painted in looking - but they were cool :D

Went home, fell asleep, forgot to go pick up Cam, was almost late for church - officially TEN DAYS of being sick (and not dying, praise God).

On the way home from work - found at walmart. Yes, just after midnight shopping, what can I say? Did not eat until after, okay, well, FOR, breakfast the following morning (which was really just a few hours later)

Gino's fryer. Now, most of the stuff we fry to serve from the menu, it's not so much for me. Contraban though - things we bring in and fry - SWEET - nice to have a commercial fryer at your disposal when you want something like...tempura prawns :D

Caravan Buddy - on the way back from Sacramento - Brother Blaine Carlson. You folks have NO IDEA how AWESOME this man and his wife Pam are. NO IDEA WHATSOEVER - they are two of the most wonderful, amazing, prayerful people I have ever been blessed to spend time with! Honest, they really are that much of an inspiration - they're REAL, HONEST, HARD WORKING, LOVING people.

Love these folks! :)

No clue how that lei got on my head nor why it's there. Whatever - hometown girls, Sara (Sunny, Suzanna, Solana, Soleil) is the blond one, Sarabeth Vavra is the brunette :D

This was Sara Reeves' (the blond) newlywed luau! :) And it was AWESOME (she made little tiki bamboo containers for all of the tables - super cool)

Camping at Siskiyou Lake!! Nice campground :) My main man Cam set us up with the tent Sister Alsworth loaned us - she sent a lantern too! SWEET! There was some kind of stick under my bedding...:D

Please do not gasp too loudly when I tell you that there seems to be NO PHOTO FROM THIS DAY. I know. sad isn't it? Recap: I started getting sick in the middle of the night, after driving the kids to Roseburg, started coughing around 2 AM - drove back home Monday, went to beach to lie in the sand while the kids played with Cub...I don't remember going to work so I probably didn't. Apparently I didn't do much of anything. So sorry to let you all down lol :D IT'S OKAY THOUGH, totally not the end of the world, me not having a photo of feeling like icky poo. Illness has not killed me though - so really, it's all good :D

The beach. I made it back from Roseburg after dropping the kids off, I was officially getting SICK but it was such a beautiful day I wanted to get out in the sun and rest, soak it up - so Brenda brought Cub and we all went to Bastendorff!

Chipotle Chicken pizza @ Abby's - it's what you feed the youth after they inhale their pepperoni pizza and are too cheap to buy themselves more food :) And it was YUMMY!!

Now, this may seem like an EATING photo - but really - it's a making fun of Amanda photo. She has an umbrella - in an attempt to protect her from what we call "misting" here on the coast. It's not exactly rain, it's more like fog that surrounds you and gets you all wet - but Amanda isn't from the coast, so to her it felt like rain, and therefore required an umbrella. Bill's not really having a bad time, I think he's just getting smoked out.

June 11, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

YES! I am alive. I am just BEHIND. Way behind. :) I took kids to their bus liason to youth camp and came back with a rotten summer cold. Then, when almost over that, went to Redding/Sacramento - and was hit by severe allergies. It was yuck :)

SO, on June 11, we made caramel from sweetened condensed milk - because we found it close dated on sale 4/$1 - and bought a case. Now - if you want caramel SAUCE - you put it in a pan, cover it with water, and boil/simmer for 3 hours - KEEPING IT COVERED WITH WATER!! If you don't keep it covered, the cans will EXPLODE and you will have a giant (not to mention dangerous) mess on your hands.

You should all know by now that following directions is not my strong suit. NO, I didn't blow it up. I put it in the pressure cooker (because then I knew they would stay covered and NOT blow up). But I still cooked it 2.5 hours - so I don't have caramel SAUCE, I have caramel SPREAD - and it's FANTASTIC :)

THIS was so cute - I got home from work and Ruby and Abby were still up - all excited about the things they had gotten at Hospice Thrift Store. Abby came right to the car to show me her belt...and Ruby came running with this bag. Took an hour to find out what was in the bag because...she was more excited about the princess bag they put her purchase in than she was about the actual items that were purchased.

Ahhh - these are the days :D

June 4, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun!

And as of now, I am caught up with posting the photos I have taken and NOT posted :D YAY!! (bet you thought I fell off the project...)

Anyhow, THIS is going to be my hammock. Yes, it's old fishing net. Yes, some is hanging on the wall at Oregon Inspiration for decoration. And YES Kurt really is going to help me make a hammock (or he's going to come home to the AmyJo got impatient version which will be good for a laugh, functional, and probably hanging somewhere he'd rather not have it :D )
