This is my *I can't believe it's not a tropical island get-away* hammock. To pretend you are lying under swaying palms with a delightful ocean breeze, Bill says to hold your hands up above your face, palm side down, and gently wave them back and forth...then you will see...PALMS above and feel a faint breeze.

If I had a kiln - I would be dangerous - because I think this melted bottle (totally overlook the fact that it's grey goose vodka) is AWESOME!! I would totally melt all sorts of glass - melted wine bottles would make cool grape/cheese/cracker serving trays...i would melt every bottle i saw until i was over that phase of life.The Blackberry Arts Festival had some other cool stuff, like journals made from old books with the spines cut off and then coil punched and bound with wire coil binding...
And of course, Black Market Gourmet's Blackberry BBQ Beef sandwiches (if you've never had one, you need one - Black Market Gourmet ROCKS)!

This was a LONG day...:)
I bought groceries, juggled finances and fixed super yummy frozen stir fry for dinner and was VERY THANKFUL THAT WE ARE SOOOOO BLESSED. I didn't even EDIT photos (that I can recall), but I did work with the stuff for Annie's slideshow...:)

Today I didn't TAKE any photos, I am still processing the RAW images from Kadi's wedding - so I have LOOKED AT...cropped, rotated, and converted hundreds :)
See, I wasn't just working with MY photos, I gathered up all the memory cards and copied ALL of the photos everyone else had as well - so they could all be uploaded to one spot - and phew. What a lot of work lol :D
But doesn't the Shutterfly page look sharp? Phew, they are classy - I have been also uploading to Artscow - but they don't have such a cool sharing interface where guests can download the photos they want...at full/printable resolution - which is going to save us ALL a HUGE headache of trying to get photos to everyone who wants them - they can pick their own :D

Ribbons. They're Cam's. His 2nd ever swim meet and he didn't DQ in ANY event. They boy could barely dog paddle in April - which isn't cool for a sailor - and now he can keep up with kids who have been swimming since they were 3, 4 and 5 - he rocks!

But being so old and that having been last week, I don't remember August 14th. Really. I am having difficulty removing photos from memory cards (frustrating) and any I took with my cell phone, well it had technical difficulties too and was shipped off for repairs, I sure hope they don't reformat it. I got behind AGAIN?? How did that happen? Now that I am 35...I'm slipping. As of 13, August, 2009 - I am THIRTY - FIVE YEARS OLD!! Not really - well, really 35, not really *old* - you know...
My brother Joseph, bless his little pea pickin' heart - has a thing with flames, fire - and apparently sending me birthday cards with a fire them - last year it was a Homer Simpson (when a fire starts to burn, there's a lesson you must learn, something something then you'll see, you'll avoid catastrophe...point being he couldn't remember what the something was...) - this year it's another singing Simpson's card (and I don't watch the Simpson's but I still got it) that says, "This is my swingset, this is my sandbox, I'm not allowed to go in the deep end, that's where I saw the Leprechaun. He told me to BURN things." Cover shown, inside says, "Birthday candles taste like burning."

This cool set-up is a DREDGING operation - to keep our shipping channel safe and open. They scoop out the muck that gets carried down with the river flow and in with the tidal flux - dump it onto the barge - then drag the barge 10 miles or so out to sea and dump it...then repeat :)

The groom's cake was red velvet...and didn't get cut until the day after the wedding, when the family gathered in calm and quiet and gifts were opened. I seriously left sooooo stuffed that I probably shouldn't have eaten another bite for at least 2 days. Tuna, a whole salmon, cake, pastries - oh my word. DELISH!!
