The goal was to lie on the deck and rest in the fresh air and sunshine, but man, it was TOO COLD so I did enjoy a bit of fresh air time today, and then came back into the house and got back into my bed. I only coughed a little out there, but I was blessed to see a little chattering chipmunk and some pretty whispy clouds :D

Youth group outing in Florence, met up with Sutherlin's youth group...mini golfed, drove go-karts, dq, pizza, fellowship and FUN!!

April 24, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun!

Do I even have to explain why Becky is the best babysitter in the whole world? I mean, just look at this girl, she's AWESOME and a tremendous blessing to my family! AND she's my FRIEND too!!

Lunch with Daddy on the boardwalk again - he's working on the Miki Miki today. Camden was off assisting youth leader Bill (and playing from what I hear) so we girls had a QUIET trip into town and a quiet lunch :)

April 22, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

He's been swimming for less than 3 weeks now, and today was his first *meet* - a mini meet. No clue who we met with but some of those little people (I'm talking 5 - 8 years old) are AMAZING LITTLE WATER ROCKETS!! Cam...not so much a rocket - but he's doing SO MUCH BETTER!! He can breath now without sucking down half the pool!

Two 3rd places, and two 4ths - this was the butterfly - and he made it through (he hates the butterfly).

He's going to be an awesome swimmer - which is a good thing to go with his already fantastic ability to SAIL!

Grocery outlet had my favorite Kombucha Wonder Drinks!! Yay. So for *brunch* the girls and I are having some nutty little cubes (hippy food) and Kombucha Wonder Drinks...So much easier to buy than to make myself (I have killed my last 3 kombucha cultures :o{ )

Nevermind the cobwebs between the storm windows and the window windows. The giant spider in there has eaten all of his comrads and I fear he will eat me if I remove the storm windows so I have delegated that job to KURT - and he won't even choke down a wonder drink for the occasion, I will make him coffee. Special coffee :)

Let me introduce you to Oscar...he's not my dog. This dog belongs to Kurt and the kids - and he tries to SNEAK INTO MY BED. For me, pets = pests; for my family - this dog is SUPER IMPORTANT and VERY SPECIAL.

So even though he chews everything in my house, makes messes and really bugs me, Oscar truly is a blessing. He's pretty laid back, he's kind and he tries to act like he's big and vicious to scare away would be attackers (like the pizza delivery man).

The bonfire...Brother & Sister Whitley suggested it...then had to be called and reminded to show up! FUN TIMES! Kurt wasn't feeling well but made me this fine skewer for the roasting event before the kids and I took off - it's not welded...wish we could figure out what happened to the ones he had welded...they were super cool (stainless steel with the prongs bent back up toward the handle so you couldn't stab anyone on accident and your food didn't fall off). Anyhow, you have to admit, this is pretty red neck clever :D

Stainless steel fork attached to steel square iron rod *like maybe sort of like rebar* and a hose clamp...dude. I totally rock with my red neck gear at these events - what a crafty man I have!

April 15, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

Even on TAX DEADLINE DAY when you haven't filed your Oregon return yet...I mean, it seems to me that if I owe, I still have to pay the 5% fine for not paying in enough to begin with (this is the 3rd year in a row, btw, and we don't claim extra on our W4 so no clue why we don't have enough taken out). If I read correctly, you pay the 5% fine for filing LATE (as in tomorrow) or for owing...so whatever. MINE ARE NOT MAILED - SO TAKE THAT OREGON DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE (along with the money we will be sending you every month until we die).

Moving on, don't you just love Kurt? He used to dress like this all the time...not really even realizing he looked like a GOOBER and that he didn't match...today, he did it on purpose (and went to church this way) just to make me laugh. I mean seriously, unless you are color tone impaired, you can clearly see that HE DOES NOT MATCH to the point of clashing so badly it made me laugh outloud. IF YOU DRESS LIKE THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS I AM NOT TRYING TO INSULT YOU NOR MAKE YOU FEEL BADLY (i have been known to wear capris under my skirt with frumpy t-shirt & sweater and pink shoes - but the colors all matched).

Somehow, even when I am not working, I end up at Gino's Pizza on a daily basis. Today it was just to kill an hour while Camden was at swimming. I had some tea (I keep a cute little orange pot down there), visited with Lora and Kurt showed up there after he got off work because...he knows where to find me. It's kind of like...my hang out.

April 13, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

I'm not much of a soda drinker, but I had some acetaminophen that I wanted to take for my headache and throbbing punctured foot tonight - and the only places open were drive thrus...and I didn't want to pay *an extra twenty five cents for eight extra ounces of watered down cherry coke* so I had Cam run up to the $0.40 machine with two quarters...and we got a rootbeer :D

Remember when they were only a quarter? Well, thank you Lord that they are still under $0.50 because...THAT'S ALL THE CHANGE I HAD TO SPARE TONIGHT! That one can was enough for me to share with Cam and Kurt when I got home (mostly because Kurt was really just talking in his sleep, thought he wanted it, took a drink and handed it back in robot fashion...otherwise he'd have returned an empty can).

FINALLY - this is our 4th(?) Easter Egg Hunt with Sause Bros. - Kurt's employer. Year one, Abby cried. Hysterically. Second year, Abby cried, not so hysterically. Last year, Abby PARTICIPATED but I didn't get a photo of her with the bunny that was really any good.

THIS YEAR - I GOT THEM :) Love those "Easter Bonnets..." aka, denim bucket hats that say...Sause Bros. of course :D

Okay, so he still doesn't breathe right while free styling, because, admittedly, he panics as soon as he puts his face in the water - however, he did some awesome flips tonight at the family swim (without plugging his nose...because his coach had a spy...and if it were reported that nose plugging was seen, extra laps would be tacked on during tomorrows practice).

April 8, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun...

Even when you start to wonder where the hundreds of baby spiders that were there 2 days ago went..."There," being between the storm window and the outer window (which incidentally has 5 large spiders in that space, as well as the two groups of little baby hatching spiders that were there 2 days ago)...anyhow, those little guys are GONE. What does that mean? It means those cute little buggers are PROBABLY IN MY BED OR SOMETHING! Oh, don't get me wrong, spiders are REALLY COOL up close and personal (like through a telephoto lens, or other secure piece of glass so they don't actually get near enough to touch me). But baby spiders, no matter how cute they may be...are small enough to get through the layers of the ill fitting windows and inside my house, and we all know that babies grow up. Yes, that's right...soon there will be gigantic, nasty, ucky, scary, black spiders waiting at the foot of my bed, beneath the covers, TO EAT ME. EEWWW!

Perhaps it's bug bomb season? Now honestly, I installed the storm windows, and there were no spiders, nor webs inbetween them. SO IT WILL BE KURT'S JOB TO REMOVE THEM (yes, the storm windows and the new friends living there). I'd spend the whole day being creeped out thinking they were crawling up my sleeves...

Today we went to Fiddlesticks to get Kayla the *promised* Webkinz for her 11th birthday! BOY DID THEY HAVE A TON - and they were only $12.99 - I paid $12.50 for Ruby's *virtual* version of the pet that didn't even come with the cute stuffed version (and some of those things were cute). Kayla got the Silverback Gorilla (and he's COOL and super soft).

Anyhow, this is their window covering to block the outsider's view of the back side of their cash register area - and I loved the colors - instantly made me think SCRAP, and EASTER :)

April 5, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

You know those fancy *atomic* clocks?? The ones that set themselves when you plug them in, that supposedly adjust for daylight saving time...well, apparently ours doesn't work. Well, it works, just not on the day it's supposed to spring forward, fall back - so we have to manually spring it forward and fall it back and then when it feels like doing it's auto thing, it totally whacks out my day. This morning, we left home, by that clock (as usual) with just enough time to get to church...and still be late :) When we got into the car, I looked at the dash clock and it was an hour off - so I said, "Who messed with my clock in here??" And no one claimed responsibility for it...like they would and beg me for a lecture about touching things that don't belong to them...so we get to church and NO ONE WAS HERE. Why?? Because THIS MORNING is the day the clock decided to spring forward (after we'd already manually moved it ahead) - so no one messed with the dash clock and we were an hour early for church...

So we went to Taco Bell for breakfast and headed to the California Street Dock to eat and enjoy the morning God blessed us with - He let us get out and about an hour early so we could enjoy the sunshine, and spend time with each other in a place where we had no chores to do and were forced to enjoy each other's company! Praise God :)

April 2, 2009 - Living For Jesus is Fun

YAY! I stuck my turtle on my car today! Bought it in Hawaii (as my souvenir) and it floated around the house for the past month (or so) and finally wound up in my purse, and today - made it onto the window! The biggest hassle was that I'm blond and I couldn't decide where I should stick the sucker - so today, I made an executive decision and just dried off a spot and stuck it without any real thought nor consideration (until after it was stuck, then I thought, hmmm...wonder if that's in the path of my wipers).

Afterward - I thought - cool, you can see the cloudy/clear (for the moment) skies, the trees - and other cool stuff in the reflection on the windows :D

Would you believe I completely forgot it was April Fool's Day? All day long, I knew it was April 1st - but I just associate the date with BECKY'S BIRTHDAY - no foolin'!! I love Becky way more than pranks :D

Sandy treated us to lunch at La Costa for the occasion :)
